Tobias Nørby Hansen

Education

Tobias N. Hansen obtained his M.Sc. in applied chemistry from the Technical University of Denmark in 2020. In the same year, he began his Ph.D. studies in the laboratory of Professor Christian A. Olsen at the University of Copenhagen.

He completed his Ph.D. in 2024, focusing on the development of tool compounds for studying lysine deacylase enzymes, including HDACs and sirtuins.

Research focus

His research centers on medicinal chemistry and the development of chemical tools for investigating enzyme function, with a particular focus on lysine deacylase enzymes such as HDACs and sirtuins.

International experience
His academic work has included international exchange and research stays. In 2019, he participated in an exchange program at the National University of Singapore. In 2023, he completed a research stay at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University.
Awards and scholarships
In 2020, he was awarded a Novo Nordisk Scholarship in recognition of his academic achievements.
Current role
After completing his Ph.D., he continued as a postdoctoral fellow in the same laboratory before joining the Vipergen team in early 2025. He is currently working on DNA-encoded library synthesis.
